MIDLAND, Mich. — In the team’s regular season finale, Zach Willeman made his first professional start for the Single-A Great Lakes Loons on Monday, pitching three scoreless frames in a 1-0 loss to the South Bend Bees.

Willeman, a Napoleon and Kent State product, allowed one hit and struck out three over the first three frames for the Loons, a Los Angeles Dodgers’ affiliate.

Willeman concludes his comeback season from Tommy John surgery with a 3-0 mark in eight total appearances with Great Lakes and the Arizona League Dodgers with a 1.42 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched.
