MIDLAND, Mich. — Zach Willeman earned the rare three-inning save for the Great Lakes Loons (Single-A) on Monday, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers’ affiliate to an 8-3 victory over the South Bend Cubs.

Willeman, a Napoleon and Kent State grad, struck out seven with one hit and one walk allowed in 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn his first save with Great Lakes.

The former Wildcat is now 0-1 in five starts and seven appearances with the Loons with 16 strikeouts and 16 walks with a 6.57 ERA in 24.2 frames.
