BRADENTON, Fla. — Shea Murray passed his toughest test of the year so far, pitching a season-high three innings of relief for the Bradenton Marauders (High-A) in a 2-0 blanking of the Florida Fire Frogs on Saturday.

The Defiance High School and Ohio State product struck out six, allowing just one hit and two walks to lower his season ERA from 10.05 to 8.31 in the process.

Murray, a Pittsburgh Pirates’ farmhand, is now 1-0 with a save in 22 total outings between Bradenton and Low-A Greensboro with a 6.66 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.
