OTTAWA — Ottawa scored three unearned runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to stun the Napoleon River Bandits 6-5 in Legion baseball action in Ottawa on Monday.

Nate Vold (Ayersville), Landon Willeman (Napoleon) and Jacob Smith (Napoleon) each recorded doubles for the River Bandits (2-2), which took a 3-0 lead through two innings and led 5-3 through eight frames.

Vold tallied an RBI single following a pair of walks in the second before a pair of wild pitches scored Vold and Bryer Bentley (Montpelier). In the sixth inning, Willeman doubled and scored on an error on a hit by Brandon Shafer (Defiance) before Smith rapped an RBI double.

Napoleon and Ottawa will tangle again on Wednesday, this time at Defiance College’s Rutter Field at 6 p.m.
