After surrendering eight runs in the seventh inning against Stevensville (Mich.) in the opening game of a doubleheader at Defiance High School on Saturday, the Napoleon River Bandits bounced back in the nightcap to pick up an 8-2 win.

In the late contest, Caleb Frank (Fairview) pitched six shutout innings of one-hit ball, striking out five while Nate Vold (Ayersville) had a double and three RBIs.

Napoleon (10-5) racked up 13 hits in the opener, led by three singles apiece from Axel Shanks (Patrick Henry) and Austin Bostater (Fairview).
