WASILLA, Alaska — The Napoleon River Bandits capped off a red-hot run through their 13-game Alaska schedule with an 11-5 win over the host Wasilla Legion Post 35 Road Warriors to win the Todd Ryan Memorial Tournament on Sunday.
Hunter Bostater (Fairview) tripled for the Bandits (27-9), driving in three runs, while Zac Brickel (Hicksville) also tallied three RBIs with two singles and a double.
Landon Willeman (Napoleon) struck out seven over 3.2 innings of work while Austin Lichty (Antwerp) allowed just one run on two hits in 3.1 frames to earn the win for the River Bandits.
Napoleon finished its annual Alaska trip with a 12-1 mark and two tournament victories to go along with a second-place finish in another tourney. The Bandits racked up 117 runs (9 runs per game) in their 13 contests, including 51 in their last four games.
Napoleon will return to familiar soil at Defiance College on Wednesday against Pemberville Legion before departing again for tournament action in St. Paul, Minn.
The Bandits will compete against Tri-City Maroon (Minn.) at 9 a.m. on Friday and at 11:30 a.m. against Team Manitoba (Canada) before a pair of contests on Saturday and another on Sunday at the University of Northwestern St. Paul.
