SIDNEY — Napoleon came back from a 2-1 deficit, rattling off seven runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth inning before the River Bandits’ road clash with Sidney was called after the eighth inning for an 8-3 victory.

Levi Gonyer (Otsego) earned the win with an inning of scoreless relief as four bandit pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts. Bryer Bentley (Montpelier) fanned seven over the first four frames while Austin Lichty (Antwerp) added four punchouts in 2.1 innings to earn the save.

Daryke Bass (Edon) doubled, driving in a pair of runs for the Bandits while Hunter Bostater (Fairview) ripped a solo home run.

Napoleon will return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. against Stevensville (Mich.) Legion at Defiance College. If rain plays a role, the game will be moved to Defiance High School.
