ARCHBOLD — For the second time in three years, Archbold claimed the NWOAL championship with an 8-0 win over Liberty Center on Monday night.

The league crown marks the Bluestreaks’ 17th title overall and their first since 2017.

“I’m really proud of these guys for staying focused and working hard through all the rain cancellations to come out and capture the league championship in convincing style,” explained Archbold skipper Dick Selgo. “The NWOAL is a very hard league to win, so I couldn’t be happier for our guys.”

Cory Erbskorn went 3-for-4 with a single and two doubles to lead Archbold past Liberty Center, 8-0. Kade Kern and Jeron Williams each hit a pair of singles for the Bluestreaks (No. 4 Division III OHSBCA). Rigo Ramos continued his mound mastery with 11 strikeouts over six innings of shutout ball.

Jarrett Krugh led the Tigers with two singles.

Mason Hendricks smacked a double and a single in the loss for the Vikings.

DELTA — Patrick Henry’s Christian Peterson overpowered Delta with a no-hitter as PH blanked the Panthers, 11-0.

Peterson mowed down 17 batters via strikeout while issuing just two walks. The standout also led the Patriots from the plate with three singles and five RBIs

NAPOLEON — Napoleon finished a game suspended from mid-April against Perrysburg, falling 1-0 in 13 innings before taking down the Yellow Jackets 2-0 in a scheduled NLL contest.

In the conclusion of the earlier game, Perrysburg scored the lone run on a double and bloop single, both with two outs, to knock off the Wildcats in the 13th.

Jake Smith, who took the loss after a handful of pitches in the 13th for Napoleon, bounced back in a start in the second contest, firing six shutout innings before Mitchell Kruse came on for the save.

Smith struck out four in the two-hitter while Wesley Jeffries-Babcock rapped an RBI double in the fourth inning.
