FINDLAY — Robert Lee Meeks, 71, Findlay, Ohio, went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Robert was born March 6, 1947, to the late Charles and Marian (Wolf) Meeks in Defiance, Ohio. Robert was a graduate of Findlay College, where he majored in business. He retired from Marathon Oil after over 40 years as a tax analyst. Robert had a passion for sports and athletics. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan and always enjoyed a game of cornhole or a round of golf. Robert served as a coach for his children’s sports teams for many years. Robert found the most joy watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also an outdoorsman, enjoying camping and fishing.

Robert was very strong in his faith, serving in numerous roles as an elder at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Findlay, Ohio. Robert also served as the president of the La Plas Condominium Association. Robert will be remembered for being full of life and kindness.

Robert will be dearly missed by his wife, Sue Meeks; his children, Angee (Jamie) Insley and Brian Meeks, of Arlington, Ohio; his sister, Linda (John) Hill of North Creek, Ohio; sister-in-law, Carol Meeks of Continental, Ohio; his grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Pecora, Morgan (Josh) Ream, Justin Rose and Nathan Insley; and his great-grandchildren, Blaire Pecora and Abram Pecora. He will be reunited in heaven with his parents and his brother, Darrell Meeks.

Visitation for Robert will be Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 3-7 p.m. at the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840. His funeral service will be Friday, March 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2300 Northridge Road, Findlay, Ohio 45840, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial contributions may be gifted in Robert’s honor to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
