Jacob David Seedorf, 37, Defiance, Ohio, formerly of Malinta, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital, Defiance, Ohio.
He was born May 7, 1981, in Willowby, Ohio, to David and May (Clady) Seedorf. Jake was a 1999 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and 2001 graduate of Northwest State Community College, with a degree in computer programing. He worked at Ortho NorthEast, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the computer technologies department. He loved computers and most of all, how to fix them.
Jake was a confirmed member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Deshler, Ohio, and former member of 4H Maids and Masters. He enjoyed 4-wheeling in Michigan and experimental cooking and grilling with friends and family. Jake was known as the gentle giant to his family, because he was always a large individual and had a loving heart to match!
Jake is survived by his father, Dave Seedorf of Malinta, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother, May; brother, Guy; sister, Rachel; and infant sister, Candace. He also was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Elnora Seedorf and Robert and Inez Clady.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
