Lovers of marching band music will get their fill on Sept. 15, with tunes from six area high school bands.
The 47th annual Vince Polce Marching Band Spectacular is slated for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Defiance High School’s Fred J. Brown Stadium. Joining the Defiance High School Band of Class are the Fairview Marching Band of Pride, Wayne Trace Marching Band, St Mary’s All-Brass Band, Allen East Mustang Marching Brass and Sylvania Southview Marching Band.
“Once again this year we will conclude the show with a mass band performance,” stated Cathy Booth, Defiance band director. “That will be around 670 students on the field.”
Tickets are on sale at Rettig Music, Deluxe Cleaners and at the gate. All tickets are general admission and cost $10 for adults, $5 for student/senior citizens. Preschoolers are admitted free with a parent. Seating is available for those with physical impairments and gates open at 6 p.m.
“We are looking forward to another great year of bands,” added Booth. “We have several bands that are doing repeat appearances, but this will be the first time for Wayne Trace to perform at our show. They are a competition band, so their performance will be a nice contrast to our show style groups.
“The entire evening will be a wonderful night of music and we hope everyone comes out to see the show,” she added.
