TCT On Tour, the touring division of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, will be in Defiance Saturday to present an exclusive 45-minute performance of “Rumplestiltskin.”

This event will be held as a part of the Young Audience Series at the Stroede Center for the Arts, 613 W. Third St., Defiance. This event was originally scheduled for Feb. 2 and cancelled due to weather.

Is your name Harry?

Or Sam?

Or could it be Rumpelstiltskin?

TCT retells this classic tale of the miller’s daughter, her boastful father, a handsome prince and the ability to spin straw into gold.

The four-person cast includes members of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati resident artist company: Joey Logan, Rosvic Siason, Ryan-Chavez Richmond and Maddie Vaughn.

The production is directed by Deondra Kamau Means. Thematic connections include: literary classic, reading, folk tales, fairy tales, self-esteem, friendship, kindness, strength of character and bullying.

“Rumpelstiltskin” is most enjoyed by those in grades K-5. An acting workshop will be presented at 4 p.m. The performance will follow at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
