HAMLER — In-Demand Jobs Day at Patrick Henry High School was held Wednesday to connect area manufacturers with senior students ready to enter the local workforce.
Employers had a chance to tour Patrick Henry’s available shop and mechanical elective classrooms and labs offered to students. They also heard from Jim Drewes about the Northwest State Community College and Automatic Feed Company’s Northwest Ohio Technology Center for Manufacturing program, and Stephanie Petersen from the OhioMeansJobs Henry County office while holding speed interview sessions with seniors looking for a job right after graduation.
The entire class of 2020 also was brought in to hear from employers regarding the necessary skills, grades and overall work ethic needed to compete in today’s job market. Students learned the benefits of going straight into the workforce after graduation.
