The second program in conjunction with the 225th anniversary of the building of Fort Defiance, based upon several historical figures who either served under Wayne or were stationed at Fort Defiance, focused on Zebulon Montgomery Pike Thursday evening. The free program was held on the site of Fort Defiance. The event is sponsored by the Andrew L. Tuttle Memorial Museum as a part of the 225th anniversary of the building of Fort Defiance, Aug. 8, 1794. Several new Fort Defiance related displays are planned for the celebration at the museum. In addition, a 1794 period living history encampment at the fort grounds will take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. the weekend of Aug. 10-11. Here, Richard Rozevink, director of the Tuttle Museum, shares information about the fort.
