Drs. David Kim and Jeffrey Walters have joined Mercy Health’s general surgery department.
The surgeons serve patients at Mercy Health — Defiance Clinic, Mercy Health — Arrowhead Surgery Center, Paulding County Hospital and Henry County Hospital.
“Providing expert care is just one piece of the puzzle. That care also needs to be available when and where patients need it. Expanding our general surgery team helps us keep those commitments,” said Sonya Selhorst, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Mercy Health — Defiance.
Walters earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Lincoln Memorial University, DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Kim earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a rotating internship and general surgery residency at Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
The general surgery department offers a wide variety of elective and emergent services, including surgery for thyroid disease, gallbladder, hernia, appendectomy, breast masses, skin lesions, colonoscopies and hemorrhoids.
