AYERSVILLE — A special meeting was held Wednesday by the Ayersville Local Board of Education.
The board approved a motion to rescind the resolution of necessity for the replacement of an existing income tax adopted at its June 24 meeting. It also approved a resolution of necessity to annually raise an additional amount for school district purposes.
In other business, the membership with the META Purchasing Cooperative was approved. The board also gave the okay for the purchase of a 72-passenger bus from Cardinal Bus Sales as previously bid through META Purchasing Cooperative in the amount of $86,700.
In personnel matters, the board approved a one-year teaching contract for Nathan Hey, effective with the 2019-20 school year. Hired as the girls varsity basketball coach was Tim Nicely.
