ARCHBOLD — The Archbold Area Schools board of education met Monday to act on several items for the 2019-20 school year.
Dates for the several board meetings were approved. They are Aug. 12; Sept. 16; Oct. 21; Nov. 18; Dec. 16; and Jan. 13. All meetings will take place at 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Each is for the purpose of conducting the school district’s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda.
In personnel, the board approved a one-year supplemental contract for Doug Williams as ninth-grade basketball coach for the 2019-20 school year; approved a contract for Kay Ballin as a custodian on an as-needed basis for the summer, effective June 19; and approved one-year contracts for Jody Hulbert and Mary Hall, each as a certified bus driver.
Resignations accepted were from Mary Beck as playground aide, and from Tammy Damron, both effective at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
The board also approved the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center para-professional substitute list and the substitute teacher list, along with periodic updates for the 2019-20 school year, and the classified substitute list for the 2019-20 school year.
Also approved by the board was the completion and submission of a new D5 liquor license to Downtown Restaurants and Sports, LLC at 301 N. Defiance St., Archbold. to the Ohio Department of Commerce-Division of Liquor Control. The board not request a hearing on the matter.
Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center was authorized as bus and van physical providers to administer and sign bus and van physical form T-8 for Archbold Area Schools’ bus and van drivers for the 2019-20 school year.
