NAPOLEON — Three Michigan people are in custody in connection with a counterfeit incident in Napoleon on Thursday.
Arrested were Elijah Henderson, 23, and Mareisha Hunter, 23, both of Roseville; and Remington Jones, 25, Detroit.
According to Napoleon Police Chief David Mack, the three were charged with counterfeiting, a third-degree felony; and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. They were taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker, pending an appearance in Napoleon Municipal Court.
Mack reported that a police officer was called to a Scott Street business for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill.
“Officers received witness information that quickly led them to the three individuals involved,” noted Mack. “Through investigation, officers located several more counterfeit bills and locations where bills were successfully used.”
The counterfeit bills in question were all $100 denominations with the serial number “LB62001435J.”
Anyone with information on these crimes or if a business owner may have received one of the counterfeit bills, contact the Napoleon Police Department at 419-599-2810 or your local law enforcement agency.
