Danyel Vanarsdalen, 31, Bryan, was sentenced to three years of community control on a charge of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony. Vanarsdalen also was ordered not to possess/consume alcohol, and to pay prosecution costs, stay out of bars/taverns and to successfully complete the Drug Court program. Vanarsdalen must complete treatment at Serenity Haven, and will remain in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) until a bed is available. According to prosecutor Scott Haselman, Vanarsdalen shoplifted between Aug. 17-Sept. 13. A charge of theft, a fifth-degree felony, was dismissed.
Mitchel Bachman, 20, Ravenna, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damaging or endangering and was sentenced to seven days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) and two years of community control. Bachman also was ordered to pay prosecution costs, stay out of bars/taverns, not possess/consume alcohol and to report to a probation officer once weekly. According to the prosecutor, Bachman “caused or created a substantial risk of physical harm to property” on Feb. 26-27, 2018.
