HICKSVILLE — A Defiance man was arrested in connection with an assault in Hicksville early Thursday morning.
Tahmajae Hawkins Phillips, 18, was charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
According to Hicksville Police Chief Mark Denning, at 1:16 a.m. officers responded to a report of an assault in the 400 block of Fountain Street. The victim allegedly had been assaulted by a male identified as Hawkins Phillips.
The victim was transported to Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, for treatment.
At approximately 1:18 p.m. Thursday, Hawkins Phillips was arrested by the Defiance Police Department and transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker. He is slated to appear in Defiance Municipal Court today.
The Hicksville Police Department was assisted by the Williams County Sheriff’s Office and Defiance Police Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
