State Patrol

Monday, 3:32 p.m., at Watson Road and Ohio 66, Defiance Township, an eastbound vehicle driven by Ariana Chapman, 21, 613 Village Lane, struck the rear of an eastbound vehicle driven by Scott Bauer, 36, Ney. No injuries were reported. Damage was heavy to Chapman's vehicle, and no damage was reported to Bauer's. Chapman was cited for assured clear distance.

Defiance Police 

July 3, 10:52 p.m., on East Second Street, west of Degler Street, a vehicle driven by Lafreada McCoy, 68, Oakwood, reportedly pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Alexa Telford, 19, 109 Jefferson Ave., and was struck in the rear. McCoy was taken to Mercy Defiance Clinic for suspected minor injuries.  Three of McCoy's passengers, Raeden Smith, 13, and Jada Smith, 12, both of Oakwood, and Eysise Kroegel, 14, 211 E. Second St., also were taken to Mercy Defiance Clinic for possible injuries. Damage was light to both vehicles. McCoy was cited for failure to yield. 

Thursday, 11:25 a.m., at Ottawa and Cleveland avenues, a westbound vehicle driven by Benjamin Castillo, 70, Wauseon, reportedly pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Herbert Delventhal, 90, 917 Greenbriar Lane, and was struck on the passenger side. Castillo's vehicle then struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Kimberly Jackson, 56, 1710 Ayersville Ave., while Jackson was stopped at a stop sign. Damage was light to the Delventhal and Jackson vehicles, and moderate to the Castillo vehicle. Castillo was cited for failure to yield.

Sunday, 8:51 p.m., Ida Clayton, 56, Edgerton, was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, public indecency, open container and obstructing official business following an alleged incident in the 100 block of Auglaize Street.

Monday, 2:34 p.m., eggs were reportedly thrown on a vehicle in the 800 block of Washington Avenue.  

Monday, 2:52 p.m., at West Second Street and Wayne Avenue, a westbound vehicle driven by Thomas Shoup, 48, 1995 Riverview Drive, began a right turn and struck a legally parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by James Murphy, 1776 S. Clinton St. No injuries were reported. Damage was light to both vehicles. Shoup was cited for assured clear distance.

Monday, 4:46 p.m., a broken truck window was reported in the 400 block of Franklin Street.

Monday, 6:44 p.m., on Downs Street, west of Latty Street, a vehicle driven by Timothy Overmier, 28, 1130 Latty St., backed from a private drive and struck a west-facing vehicle driven by Mary Shaffer, 60, 419 Gibson St., while Shaffer was stopped. No injuries were reported. Damage was light to both vehicles. Overmier was cited for driving without complying with operator's license. 

Tuesday, 12:12 a.m., vandalism was reported at the police department.

Tuesday, 12:34 p.m., a display phone was reported stolen from Cricket Wireless, 1832 N. Clinton St. The matter is under investigation. 

Tuesday, 1:09 p.m., damage was reported to a room at the Quality Inn, 1068 Hotel Drive.

Tuesday, 4 p.m., eggs were reportedly thrown on a vehicle in the 700 block of East Second Street.

Tuesday, 7:28 a.m., a 1993 Ford Ranger was reported stolen from the 00300 block of County Road X, Ridgeville Corners.

Tuesday, 9:25 a.m., Gavin Desgrange, 22, McClure, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct after an alleged incident in the 700 block of Union Street, McClure.

Monday, 10:33 a.m., a vehicle reported stolen out-of-state was located at the Henry County Hospital, 1600 E. Riverview Ave.

Fire — Tuesday, 4:18 p.m., firefighters were called to an alarm at 205 Grenwich Drive. They found a faulty smoke detector.
