Defiance Sheriff

May 26, 4:05 p.m., on Ohio 281, east of Stevens Road, Richland Township, a turkey flew into the windshield of a westbound semi driven by Lester Sprow, 45, Hicksville, causing light damage to the vehicle.

May 27, 9:13 p.m., on U.S. 24, east of Independence Road, Richland Township, a westbound vehicle driven by Henry Weaver, 50, Conover, N.C., struck a deer. Damage was heavy to the vehicle.

June 1, 8:51 p.m., on Williams Road, north of Bowman Road, Defiance Township, a northbound vehicle driven by Roger Schatz, 76, 363 Koerber Drive, struck a deer. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.

June 2, 3:25 a.m., on Stever Road, north of Banner School Road, a southbound vehicle driven by Crystal Imm, 29, 06145 Stever Road, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch culvert, then drove through a yard and struck a mailbox owned by Doug and Bobbie Brown before returning to her residence. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was light. Imm was cited for OVI. 

June 3, 10:18 p.m., at Domersville Road and Winchester Drive, a southbound vehicle driven by Elliott Wahl, 71, 114 Washington Ave., struck the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Darold Phillips, 65, 26452 Winchester Drive. No injuries were reported. Damage was heavy to Wahl's vehicle and light to Phillips'. Wahl was cited for assured clear distance.

June 4, 6:40 a.m., on U.S. 24, east of Egler Road, Adams Township, an eastbound vehicle driven by Terry Kindinger, 55, 19046 Buckskin Road, struck a deer. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.

Wednesday, 11:43 a.m., on Buckskin Road, west of Openlander Road, Mark Township, an eastbound vehicle driven by Victoria Gentit, 26, Sherwood, struck a deer. Damage was light to the vehicle.

Wednesday, 9:50 p.m., on Adams Ridge Road, south of County Road 55, Richland Township, a northbound vehicle driven by Lori Schafer, 57, Defiance, struck a deer. Damage was light to the vehicle.

Thursday, 1:18 p.m., Brittany Carter, 22, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant and taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO), Stryker.

Thursday, 10:56 p.m., on Ohio 15, east of The Bend Road, Washington Township, a westbound vehicle driven by Deborah Clark, 58, Bryan, struck a deer. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.

Friday, 3:55 p.m., Stuart Owens Jr., 35, Hicksville, was charged with domestic violence after an alleged incident.

Friday, 7:10 p.m., Nathan Culler, 32, Defiance, was charged with violating a protection order.

Saturday, 3:21 p.m., a theft was reported in the 16000 block of Bostater Road, Ney.

Saturday, 5:23 p.m., Aaron Powell, 36, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant on indictment and taken to CCNO.

Saturday, 9:41 p.m., Elesio Camposano Jr., 39, Paulding, was arrested on a warrant on indictment.

Saturday, 9:43 p.m., Justin Hicks, 32, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant on indictment.

Sunday, 9:25 a.m., Ryan Druhot, 28, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant from Defiance Common Pleas Court.

Sunday, 7 p.m., vandalism was reported in the 27000 block of Watson Road.

Monday, Elizabeth Somok, 35, Fayette, was arrested on a warrant from Defiance Common Pleas Court.

Thursday, 4:03 p.m., on Wayne Avenue, north of Juliet Street, the trailer of a northbound vehicle driven by Robert Osborne, 37, 1039 Madison Ave., struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Brenda Garcia, 625 Wayne Ave., when Osborne attempted a right turn into an apartment complex. Light damage as reported to Garcia's vehicle. Osborne was cited for assured clear distance.

Friday, 3:20 p.m., on North Clinton Street, north of Elliott Road, a southbound vehicle driven by Ty Gutierrez, 24, 815 Bell St., reversed and its trailer struck the front of a southbound vehicle driven by Collin Robarge, 18, 723 Wayne Ave. No injuries were reported. Damage was light to Robarge's vehicle; no damage was reported to Gutierrez's. Gutierrez was cited for improper backing.

Friday 5:18 p.m., a break-in was reported in the 1000 block of South Clinton Street. Clothing was reported missing.

Friday, 10:05 p.m., Michael Strickler, 40, Defiance, was charged with felonious assault after an alleged incident at Jersey's, 1995 N. Clinton St., and taken to CCNO.

Saturday, 1:23 p.m., at Clinton and West Second streets, a northbound vehicle driven by Elizabeth Haynes, 34, 652 Division St., began a left turn, causing a southbound motorcycle ridden by John Disheaux, 69, 1709 E. Hopkins St., to swerve to avoid a collision and tip onto its side. Disheaux and a passenger, Jan Drumm, 63, Kenton, were treated at the scene for possible injuries by the Defiance Fire Department. Damage was light to the motorcycle; no damage was reported to Haynes' vehicle. Haynes was cited for failure to yield.

Saturday, 3:14 p.m., Kathy Parks-Jewell, 64, Defiance, was charged with theft after an alleged incident at Walmart, 1804 N. Clinton St.

Saturday, 7:15 p.m., John Vassel, 58, Toledo, was charged with open container, and Cornell Lawrence, 40, Defiance, was charged with OVI after an alleged incident at City Beverage, 08283 Ohio 66. Lawrence was arrested on a warrant from Maumee Municipal Court and taken to CCNO.

Sunday, 10:08 a.m., in the 1600 block of Cimarron Lane, a resident reported someone had tried to break into an outdoor shed.

Sunday, 10:44 a.m., on Domersville Road, north of Second Street, a southbound vehicle driven by Chelsea Westrick, 21, 204 Prospect St., struck the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Kaylee Williams, 27, 24481 Kammeyer Road. No injuries were reported. Damage was moderate to Westrick's vehicle and light to Williams'. Westrick was cited for assured clear distance.

Sunday, 1:22 p.m., a vehicle was vandalized while parked at 1804 N. Clinton St.

Sunday, 7:25 p.m., a window was reported broken out on a vehicle parked on Hopkins Street.

Hicksville Police

Saturday, 4:45 a.m., on Defiance Avenue, a westbound vehicle driven by Charla Seitz, 57, Hicksville, was struck by a deer. Damage was light to the vehicle.

Sunday, 12:34 p.m., in the 200 block of East High Street, Johnathan L. Wells, 45, Hicksville, was arrested on a warrant from the Adult Parole Authority, and Johnathan R. Wells, 23, Antwerp, was arrested on a Paulding County warrant.

Henry Sheriff

Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., a truck driven by William Yates, 49, 27094 Orchard Drive, Defiance, went off the roadway and struck several trees. He was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Friday, 6:58 p.m., William Borck II, 35, McClure, was charged with drug abuse, expired plates and operating a vehicle with invalid plates after a disabled-vehicle complaint in McClure.

Friday, 8:02 p.m., Samuel Santos Jr., 31, Mcclure, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant and taken to CCNO.

Friday, 11:28 p.m., Leonard Harper, 42, Napoleon, was cited for driving under suspension, OVI and failure to stay in marked lanes after a traffic stop at Henry County roads L3 and L.

Saturday, 1:18 a.m., Eduardo Candanoza, 22, Holgate, was cited for criminal damaging, OVI, littering, speed and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at Ohio 108 and County Road J. He was arrested on a Henry County warrant and taken to CCNO.

Sunday, 10:19 p.m., on Ohio 109 near County Road M, Harrison Township, a northbound vehicle driven by Anthony Stout, 42, Malinta, struck a deer. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.

Napoleon Police

Friday, 5:07 p.m.,on North Perry Street, a car driven by Berdena Gruetter, 52, S835 County Road 2, Liberty Center, was going around a parked vehicle when a 6-year-old pedestrian ran in front of the vehicle and was struck. The child sustained minor injuries and was not transported.

Saturday, 11:27 a.m., on West Maumee Avenue, a westbound car driven by Cheryl Hicksted, 70, O772 County Road 7, Napoleon, attempted to pass a parked vehicle owned by Jeffrey Bostelman, Napoleon. Hicksted's vehicle struck the mirrors on Bostelman's vehicle. Hicksted was charged with display of license plates. Damage to both vehicles was light.

Sunday, 5:15 p.m., Katie Reeder, 33, Phoenix, was arrested on a warrant.

Sunday, 8:08 p.m., officers were called to a report of an opossum in a home's bathroom in the 1000 block of Reynolds Street . The animal was removed.

Monday, 12:07 p.m., Christian Rayoum, 22, Napoleon, was charged with possession of marijuana and picked up on a warrant from Defiance County after an alleged incident in the city.

Fire — Sunday, 9:02 p.m., firefighters responded to 501 Fountain St. for a report of an electrical fire.

Napoleon

Fire — Monday, 2:52 p.m., firefighters were called to a vehicle fire at U.S. 24 and Scott Street.
