PAULDING — The Paulding County Economic Development (PCED) board held its bi-monthly meeting recently.

Dennis Miller and Sandy Kessler from Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO) explained the programs and grants offered for community and economic development through MVPO.

Director Jerry Zielke then gave the board detailed updates on the top 14 projects he currently is assisting with at this time. Zielke reported that the New Small Business Innovation Center (SBIC) sign has been installed and the awnings have been removed and sent to Fort Wayne Awning for repair and cleaning.

Board president Larry Manz and vice president Tim Copsey along with Zielke met with the Paulding County commissioners to discuss the 2020 support for the PCED office. The board members highlighted financials benefits and the large number of projects that PCED office has assisted in the past and the large number of projects that are in the pipeline for the future.

Also at the meeting, the board:

• heard the reports of standing committees including the executive, finance, governance and marketing.

• were updated by representatives of the CIC of Paulding County, planning commission, township association, mayoral association, financial institutions and business/industry.

• approved the May board minutes, along with the financial report, director’s report and travel for May/June.
