Ashley George and Bruce Sowder were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, in Trinity United Methodist Church.
The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Robert Emerson. Music for the ceremony was provided by Joseph Lammers and Fred Schultz. Following the ceremony, a reception was held for approximately 300 people at the UAW Hall in Defiance. Rico Sounds, Toledo, provided the music/entertainment.
The bride is the daughter of Steve George of Swartz Creek, Mich. The groom is the son of Chon and Jo Salinas.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a mermaid gown with a cathedral veil. The bride carried a cascading bouquet.
Maid of honor was Tiffany March of Defiance. Matron of honor was Lindsey Schlosser. Bridesmaids included: Courtney McKee, Chicago; Lucy Frank, Wauseon; Alexis Rue, Antwerp; Marlee Pease, Defiance; and Emily Albert, Paulding.
Beau Hahn of Paulding served as best man. Groomsmen included: Dylan Welch, Paulding; Julian Salinas, Toledo; Isac Armstrong, Paulding; Travis Keeran, Antwerp; Zach Gawronski, Woodburn, Ind.; Armando DeAnda, Toledo; and Brandon Jackson, Paulding. Ushers were Troy Vance, Payne, and Dustin Jackson, Paulding.
Flower girls were Ava and Stella Siebert, Ayersvile, and Caydy Walker, Swartz Creek, Mich. Ring bearers were Carter and Everett Begg, and Troy Braxton Sowder, Paulding, son of the couple.
The bride is a Paulding High School graduate. She is deputy clerk for the Defiance County Juvenile Court.
Her husband is also a Paulding High School graduate. He works at Herbert E. Orr and coaches football and is the head track coach at Paulding High School.
The bride and groom vacationed Macinaw Island, Mich., for their honeymoon and reside in Paulding.
