CLYDE — A New Dimension Dance Twirl Teams took two Ohio State Team Championship titles, one Championship Duet Dance Twirl, and one first place in Open Dance Twirl this past weekend at Clyde High School, sponsored by the World Twirling Association.

Taking State Championship Team Titles included Junior Small Dance Twirl — Graicen Siler, Mary Wachtman and Porsha Wolfrum, Juvenile Novice Small Dance Twirl — Madalyn Dierksheide, Abbey Fleming, Jasmine Rodriguez, Sophia Vandehey, and Maggie Wachtman and Duet Dance Twirl — Mary Wachtman and Abbey Fleming. Taking first place in the Open event were the Tiny Tot Novice Small Dance Twirl — Ava Hoyt, Allie Runk, and Aubrie Singer.

In April the teams competed at the regional competition where the Juvenile Novice Small Dance Twirl and the Tiny Tot Novice Small Dance Twirl teams both took first place and the Junior Small Dance Twirl and Duet Dance Twirl both took second place.

Placing in individual events were:

• Mary Wachtman, Tinora, Intermediate 10-11 age division placed second overall at the Ohio State Championships and she placed first overall at the Regional Championships.

• Abbey Fleming, Defiance, Novice 10-11 age division placed first overall at both the Ohio State Championships and the Regional Championships.

• Maggie Wachtman, Tinora, Novice 8-9 age division, placed first overall at both the Ohio State Championships and the Regional Championships.

• Allison Runk, Tinora, Novice 3-5 age division, placed first overall at the Ohio State Championships and second overall at the Regional Championships.

• Sophia Vandehey, Tinora, placed second in Open Beginner 10-11 Basic Box at the Ohio State Championships.

A New Dimension Teams and individuals are coached by Dori Robertson and Jamie Runk.
