Man wields tiny bat in attempted home invasion

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- A southern Indiana man who allegedly used a miniature Louisville Slugger baseball bat in an attempted home invasion is facing some full-sized charges in the incident.

Thirty-one-year-old Anthony Allbritten was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday after a man told officers that Allbritten had tried to enter the locked front door of his Bloomington home.

The Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1sy6B4T ) the man opened the door and ran off Allbritten, who reportedly swung the miniature bat at the man in an intimidating manner and also threw rocks at him as he awaited officers' arrival.

Allbritten told officers he thought it was a friend's house he had tried to enter.

He faces preliminary intimidation and attempted residential entry charges. Allbritten remained jailed Tuesday at the Monroe County Jail on a $10,500 bond.
