Parks in Deshler, Kalida and Edgerton to receive funds from state

COLUMBUS -- The state Controlling Board OK'd more than $2.3 million in funding for parks projects around the state, including several in the area.

The latest grants are part of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' NatureWorks Local Parks program. A total of 129 applications for funding were submitted, and ODNR recommended 90 for grants.

In northwest Ohio, the village of Deshler will receive $15,774 toward a $21,3888 project to add new equipment to the village play park.

In Putnam County, the village of Kalida will receive more than $19,000 toward a new, $1.5 million community playground.

And in Williams County, the village of Edgerton will receive $35,585 toward $55,838 in accessible playground equipment and new trees at Miller Park.
