A rural Napoleon woman and a Delta toddler killed in mishaps

A rural Napoleon woman and a Delta toddler died Thursday afternoon in separate accidents.

Lois Myers, 66, 10-412 County Road O, Napoleon, died in a two-vehicle crash on Henry County Road O in Harrison Township, and 2-year-old Wyatt Curry, son of Michael and Jennifer Curry of 403 Palmwood St., Delta, died when he was hit by a car in his driveway.

According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, at 3:17 p.m. Myers was driving west on County Road O, near County Road 11-C, when a sport utility vehicle driven by Andrew George, 19, 538 W. Washington St., Napoleon, which was eastbound on Road O, went left of center. The two vehicles collided head-on and came to rest on the road.

Deputies said Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.

George was transported by Napoleon rescue to Henry County Hospital where his condition was unavailable.

Damage to both vehicles was heavy and the crash remains under investigation.

According to the Delta Police Department, the toddler was pronounced dead despite efforts at the scene by advanced life support, emergency medical service and law enforcement officers.

The accident occurred at 3:15 p.m. when a car driven by Jennifer Curry was moving forward in the family home's driveway and struck her son.

Police report the boy walked out to the driveway and into the path of the vehicle and was not seen by Curry.
