HICKSVILLE -- With as cold as it was this winter, everyone could use another quilt.

A quilt fair will be held at the Huber Opera House and Civic Center in Hicksville on Saturday and Sunday.

Last year, organizers estimate a thousand people attended the event.

"That was an exceptional year," said Colleen Richter, event organizer. "We hope a lot of people come out to see it. Money from everything goes to the Huber restorations."

The fair will include quilts, demonstrations, vendors, displays and a raffle. Richter said the show usually has at least a hundred quilts on display.

"We have a quilt to auction off. Grace Piecemakers have made a twin-size quilt," said Richter, and "each of the vendors will give us something to auction off."

The show will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5 for individuals and $4 for seniors.

If individuals would like to help at the event, give a demonstration or donate a raffle item, contact Richter at 419-542-9218 or the Huber office at 419-542-9553.

The Huber is located on High Street in downtown Hicksville.
