The inaugural Spina Bifida Scramble to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of Northwest Ohio is slated July 5 at Bedford Hills golf club in Temperance, Mich.
The scramble will begin at 8 a.m. with a shot-gun start. The day includes a round of 18 holes, cart, hotdog lunch, New York strip dinner, beverages, prizes and a fun chance to benefit a worthy cause.
Research shows that Hispanic women are least likely to take folic acid, and this event offers an opportunity for all women to learn about the importance of taking folic acid every day to prevent Spina bifida. Spina bifida results from an incomplete closure of the spinal column during the first month of pregnancy, and it is the most frequently occurring permanently disabling birth defect in the U.S.
