Putnam County voters will see a handful of races on ballot

OTTAWA -- A handful of races for school boards and municipal and township offices will be decided by Putnam County voters in the general election.

Voters in next Tuesday's election will also determine the outcome of a number of tax issues, including one each for the county's board of health and council on aging.

Contests have developed for seats on most boards of education, including three individuals seeking two seats on the Continental school board.

Additionally, county residents will have their say in narrowing the field of Democratic and Republican candidates in the special primary election for 5th District congressman. Winners of the races, along with any independent candidates, will square off in a special Dec. 11 election to complete the term of the late Paul Gillmor.
