C-N to begin a sampling of 'guest' comic strips

July 23, 2007

Starting today, The Crescent-News is beginning a "guest comic" slot where the newspaper will "sample" a nationally syndicated comic strip for one month at a time.

For the remainder of July and all of August, the guest comic is "Pickles."

"Pickles" features Earl and Opal and the love they've shared with each other for more than 50 years. The comic strip is about growing old and keeping a sense of humor about it, and it's about being young and never forgetting what it's like to be a child.

Readers can help the C-N by providing your input -- either on a daily basis, every other day or weekly -- if you like or don't like the sample comic strip. Maybe one day, you'll like Pickles and another day think it's the best one you've ever seen. Either way, the C-N would love to have your feedback.

Also, let us know which of the current comic strips on the daily page you enjoy every day and which you don't.
