WAUSEON -- Calvin E. Von Seggern, 81, Wauseon, and formerly of Archbold, died Tuesday evening, July 1, 2008, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan.

He was born April 25, 1927, in McClure, the son of Deitrick and Gertrude (Warner) Von Seggern. In 1951, he married Thelma Bender, who died in 2001. He was U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, and a member of Tedrow United Methodist Church and Wauseon American Legion Post 265. Before retiring, he was a truck driver and had been a Knapp Shoe salesman.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Jeff) Lewis of Bryan and Cindy (John) Green, Maumee; two sons, Jerry (Diane) of Gambrills, Md., and Jeff (Beth), Bryan; and eight grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Lowell and Norman.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with Pastor Diane Shaffner officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Olive Branch Cemetery, near McClure. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Preferred memorials are to American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be left at www.grisierfh.com.
