Franz Karate, a traditional martial arts school in Bryan, Ohio, had two students win the Grand Championship trophies at the Pil-Sung Tournament held in Defiance, Ohio on Saturday April 12. Matt Edington, a 1st degree black belt won the Adult Men’s Black Belt Grand Championship by placing first in Weapons, Empty Hand Forms and Kumite defeating the even the master level competitors. Nilesha Mohre, a brown belt, competed in her first black belt divisions and won 2nd in Weapons and 1st in Kata and Kumite to be crowned the Adult Women’s Black Belt Grand Champion. Both students are assistant instructors directly under Grand Master Steven Franz and train at Franz Karate located in Bryan, Ohio. www.franzkarate.com
