Saturday, 7:10 p.m., on Ohio 34 in Williams County's Center Township, a car driven by Ryan Siebert, 26, Wauseon, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Sunday, 12:35 p.m., on Williams County Road 12-C, west of County Road 13, in Center Township, a car driven by Amanda Hug, 35, 133 Gerhart St., Edgerton, was struck by a bird. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Sunday, 7:20 p.m., on Farmer-Mark Road, north of Blosser Road, in Defiance County's Farmer Township, a sport utility vehicle driven by Laura Sanders, 45, 04056 Farmer-Mark Road, Bryan, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Today, 4:20 a.m., on U.S. 24 in Defiance County's Noble Township, a truck driven by Charles Cheek, 43, 21704 Timber Crest, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Saturday, David Vela, 36, Bryan, was served a bench warrant from Defiance Municipal Court. He was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker.

Sunday, Andrew Hershberger, 27, 200 Maywinn Drive, was charged with assault after an alleged incident in Ney.

Saturday, 3:16 p.m., North Clinton Street, north of Ralston Avenue, a car driven by Gerald Ross, 21, 330 N. Beech St., Bryan, struck a car driven by Marcia Wakeham, 37, 20064 New Bavaria Road. Ross was cited for assured clear distance. Damage to both vehicles was light.

Saturday, Nickolas Sandoval, 30, Paulding, was charged with driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Clinton Street.

Saturday, Julias Fonseca, 44, 918 Deatrick St., was charged with theft after an alleged incident at Chief Market Square, Deatrick Street.

Fire -- Sunday, 9:21 a.m., firefighters were called to investigate a possible house fire at 1001 Hopkins St. An electric wall heater malfunctioned and power was shut off.

Hicksville

Fire -- Sunday, 10:48 p.m., firefighters were called to extinguish a shed fire at 05358 Kenner Road, Hicksville.

Defiance Common Pleas

Alberto Gomez, 27, 1403 Milwaukee Ave., pleaded guilty to DUI, a fourth-degree felony, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray's office. Gomez was given a 12-month prison term, fined $1,050 and given a five-year license suspension. Gomez operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, having been convicted of three or more OVI violations within six years.

 

Michael Fenstermaker, 36, Whitehouse, appeared for sentencing on a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and was placed on community control for three years. Fenstermaker caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family or household member, having had a prior domestic violence conviction.

Christopher Lewis, 24, 1503 S. Jackson Ave., pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was placed on two years of supervised probation with the intensive supervision program. Lewis caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family or household member.

Craig Pratt, 27, 13337 Oris St., appeared for sentencing on a charge of complicity in the commission of aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on community control for three years and ordered to pay $2,457.91 in restitution and was prohibited from having contact with the victim, Miguel Hernandez Jr. Pratt and Michael Strong aided a co-defendant, Robert Kramer, in causing physical harm to Hernandez, the prosecutor's office stated.

 

Amanda Ruger, 21, Bryan, appeared for sentencing on a charge of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. She was placed on community control for three years and ordered to complete the WORTH program.

 

Joshua Smith, 32, Sherwood, appeared for sentencing on a charge of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. He was placed on community control for three years while the firearm was ordered returned to the owner if he is found to be an innocent owner. Smith possessed a firearm, which is prohibited due to a prior drug conviction.

 

Gary Soncrant, 44, 611 Tiedeman Ave., pleaded no contest to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and was found guilty. A presentence investigation was ordered and his personal-recognizance bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Dec. 8.

John Wallen, 54, Hicksville, pleaded guilty to trafficking in crack cocaine, a third-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered and his personal-recognizance bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Nov. 30.

Bradford Fenter, 32, Bryan, OVI (second violation), $1,000 fine, 180 days jail, two-year license suspension; driving under suspension, $500 fine, 180 days jail to run consecutively; marked lane violation, costs only; no safety belt, $30 fine; possession of drug paraphernalia, $250 fine, 30 days jail to run consecutively, six-month license suspension to run concurrently; drug abuse, $150 fine, six-month license suspension to run concurrently; contempt of court, 30 days jail to run consecutively.

Dustin Dotson, 20, 18293 Defiance-Paulding County Line Road, OVI, $375 fine, three days jail, six-month license suspension; right half of the roadway, costs only; underage consumption, $500 fine stayed, 90 days jail stayed.

James Miller, 24, 1227 Schultz St., OVI, $375 fine, three days jail, six-month license suspension; speed, costs only.

Gavin Becher, 18, 13656 North St., theft, $1,000 fine; criminal trespassing, $250 fine, 30 days jail to be served consecutively.
