Defiance grand jury indicts 15

A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against 15 persons, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray's office.

Indicted were:

-- Brian Graziani, 37, 24165 Elliott Road, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony, and possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

-- Alex Johnson, 49, 402 Harrison Ave., compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony; gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony; and failure to provide notice of change of address, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that Johnson requested a female juvenile to engage in sexual activity in Defiance for money and purposely compelled her to submit to sexual contact by force or threat of force. He also allegedly failed to notify the Defiance County Sheriff's Office of his change of address as a requirement of his sexual offender status, having previously been convicted of corruption of a minor and corrupting another with drugs.

-- James Prowell-Iliff, 24, 803 Linden St., endangering children, a third-degree felony. Authorities allege that Prowell-Iliff, the parent of a child under the age of 18, created a risk to the health or safety of a child by violating his duty of care, resulting in serious physical harm to a child.

-- Christopher Smith, 38, 304 Northfield Ave., DUI, a third-degree felony. He allegedly operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse, having had a prior felony conviction for DUI as well as five or more OVI convictions within 20 years.

-- Adam Coressel, 19, 613 Dakota Place, aggravated trafficking in drugs (oxycotin), a fourth-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs (oxycodone), a fifth-degree felony.

-- Gary Emerson II, 34, 15053 U.S. 24, Defiance, domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family or household member, having had domestic violence conviction.

-- Charles Martinez Jr., 22, 1039 Ayersville Ave., two counts of domestic violence, each a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family or household member, once at a Defiance business and once at a Defiance residence. He also has a prior domestic violence conviction.

-- Katrina Junge, 23, 2092 Royal Oak Ave., theft, a fifth-degree felony. She allegedly stole more than $500 worth of property from a residence.

-- Shawn Lewis, 18, 302 Jackson Ave., possession of heroin and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (seroquel and trazadone), each a fifth-degree felony.

-- Holly Taylor, 38, 925 Indian Bridge Lane, theft, a fifth-degree felony. She allegedly stole property worth more than $500 from a Defiance business.

-- Brian Cutlip, 26, 708 Washington Ave., theft, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly obtained property worth more than $500 from a Defiance business.

-- Mary Jo McMahon, 52, 901 Warren St., possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs (oxycodone), each a fifth-degree felony.

-- Joseph Robinson, 27, 2234 Royal Palm Ave., trafficking in marijuana, a fifth-degree felony.

-- Erica Woods, 19, 613 Dakota Place, aggravated possession of drugs (oxycodone), a fifth-degree felony.

According to Murray, the defendants are scheduled for arraignment at 9 a.m. on Aug. 19 in Defiance County Common Pleas Court.
