"World's Longest Yard Sale"-- U.S. Route 127, Sherwood, today and Saturday, 10-2:30 p.m. Lunch available. Event sponsored by Sherwood United Methodist Church.

The Movie "Fireproof" -- Calvary Baptist Church, 115 Depot St., McClure, tonight, 7 p.m. This highly-touted film is an encouragement to build strong marriages and never leave your spouse behind. Everyone welcome, bring a friend, snacks provided.

Ice Cream Social -- Ney Church of God, 3413 State Route 15, rural Ney, Saturday, 4:30 p.m.

Monthly Contemporary Mass -- St. Augustine Catholic Church, 221 E. Clinton St., Napoleon, Saturday, 4:30 p.m.

Christian-Based Comedy and Illusionist Show -- Hicksville Church of the Nazarene, 505 Antwerp Drive, Saturday, 7 p.m. Jim Barron, popular co-host of WBCL's Rise n' Shine morning show, will perform "Seeing Things," a Christian-based comedy and illusionist show. This event is sponsored by "Upstage," a new dramatic ministry of Hicksville Church of the Nazarene. Tickets are free, but seats are limited. Reserve your family's seats by calling 419-212-2525. Spanish Language Mass -- St. John Catholic Church, 510 Jackson Ave., Saturday, 7 p.m.

Gary Peterson and his 441 (Four for One) Quartet -- Union Chapel Church of God, Williams County Roads A and 18 (north end of Flickinger Road in Defiance County on County Line Road), Sunday, 9:45 a.m. Peterson and his quartet are from the Findlay area. Everyone is invited to hear this Southern gospel music followed by a potluck dinner.

Mission Festival -- Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 30997 Gerken Road, rural Okolona, Sunday, 10 a.m. Special speaker for this outdoor service is Rev. Tom Schaeffer. Everyone welcome.

Church Festival -- St. Michael Catholic Church, 5480 Moser Road, rural Defiance, Sunday, chicken and ham dinners served family style from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Games, inflatables, craft booth and other food items available under big tent. Meal prices are $7 adults and $3.50 for age 10 and under. Raffle drawing held at 9 p.m. with grand prize of $1,000. Tickets can be purchased day of event for both dinner and raffles.

International Festival -- Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg, Aug. 15, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Aug. 16, 12-6 p.m. This fun for the whole family event features ethnic foods, coffee house, vendors, game and prizes, tours of the center, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts, bazaar, cultural exhibits and more. Admission is $3 per car. Everyone welcome.

Free Preview of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University -- Emanuel's Christian Church, 16-724 County Road Y, New Bavaria, Aug. 20, 7 p.m. This life-changing class on personal finance continues at same time every Thursday until Thanksgiving. Cost is $93 per household, which includes CD's and other class materials. Couples, singles and teens are all invited. "Sharing Bread" Gathering -- Ponderosa Restaurant, Defiance, Sept. 1, 5:30 p.m. Area residents who are hurting for any reason are invited to attend this very informal gathering for coffee, dessert or a full meal. Persons are responsible for the cost of their food and beverage. There is no set agenda. Greeters are Diane Mayer and Judy Sauer. Everyone welcome.
