ARCHBOLD -- An Archbold auto parts supplier has become the latest local employer to announce its closing. Nobel Automotive, located on South Defiance Street in Archbold, will lay off 75 employees July 15 and permanently close its doors Sept. 30, resulting in the loss of a total of 146 jobs, Archbold village administrator Dennis Howell confirmed this morning. Nobel Automotive makes automotive supplies for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors and has operated in Archbold since 1967. Howell said the job losses will be difficult for the Archbold community, but added that the village will move forward as the economy improves. Comments
