Patrick Henry will be moving up while a number of area schools just missed a change following Thursday's Ohio High School Athletic Association's release of breakdowns for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 winter sports school years.

PH will move up from Division IV to III in both boys and girls basketball, one of just four area schools affected by the new numbers announced by the OHSAA.

The Wayne Trace and Columbus Grove girls will both drop from D-III to D-IV while the Montpelier boys also go from D-III to D-IV for the next two years.

But the news could have been much bigger as Defiance County schools Fairview, Hicksville and Tinora all nearly made changes.

Fairview remained Division III in both sports but barely, with the girls just two away from dropping to D-IV and the boys four away from going down. There are 126 girls and 132 boys listed for Fairview with the new divisional numbers released by OHSAA listing girls D-III enrollments at 125-214 and boys at 129-223.

Hicksville, which remained Division IV in girls basketball, was just two away from dropping to D-IV in boys basketball with 130 boys enrolled.

Tinora was a bit further away at 137 for boys, nine above the Division IV cutoff.

Ottawa-Glandorf, a year ago right on the bubble between Division II and III in boys basketball, is now more solid as a D-III school with an enrollment of 208 for the boys, 16 away from being D-II.

The breakdowns for boys are: Division I (400 or more), Division II (224-399), Division III (129-223), Division IV (128 or less).

The breakdowns for girls are: Division I (371 or more), Division II (215-370), Division III (125-214), Division IV (124 or less).

Following are the divisions for each of the area schools.
