A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against 15 persons, according to Prosecutor Jeff Strausbaugh. The list includes two women -- Mary Emerson, 55, 904 Karnes Ave., and her daughter, Karen Emerson, 37, 904 Karnes Ave. -- on charges related to an alleged assault on a woman in Sherwood. Details of their charges appeared on page A1 of Friday's Crescent-News. Also indicted were: -- Alyssa Ramirez, 22, 523 Haig St., tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. She allegedly destroyed or concealed evidence related to a criminal investigation that was to be initiated at her residence. -- Derek Bell, 25, Bryan, theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that Bell stole prescription drugs from a residence. -- Guy Reed, 49, 14819 U.S. 127, and Kenneth Reed, 47, 14622 Power Dam Road, receiving stolen property and grand theft, both fourth-degree felonies; and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that the Reeds were in possession of a stolen vehicle and removed property valued over $5,000 from a garage. -- Shane Kramer, 28, 631 Village Lane, failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he failed to appear for a pretrial conference after having been released on a personal-recognizance bond. -- Alfred Conner, 54, 09620 Glenburg Road, violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly violated the terms of a protection order, having had a prior conviction for the same offense. -- Jeffery Ellis¸ 40, Toledo, two counts of non-support of dependents, each a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he failed to provide adequate support to his child for more than 26 weeks out of 104 consecutive weeks on at least two occasions. -- Jared Frymire, 28, 2154 Hawthorne Drive, trafficking in marijuana, a fifth-degree felony. -- Brian Graziani, 36, 24165 Elliott Road, possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), each a fifth-degree felony. -- Marc Hoffman, 46, 1205 Jefferson Ave.; Guadalupe Mireles, 25, 860 Ottawa Ave.; and Jujuan Moore, 24, Fremont, possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. -- Gerald Shreve, Jr. 39, Hicksville, two counts of non-support of dependents, each a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he failed to provide adequate support to his child for a period of more than 26 weeks out of 104 consecutive weeks on at least two occasions. According to Strausbaugh, the defendants are scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. Comments
