Toledo will 'Rocket' into town for band spectacularOctober 10, 2008
The University of Toledo Rocket Marching Band will appear at the 37th annual Vince Polce Marching Band Spectacular in Defiance. The event is slated for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Defiance High School's Fred J. Brown Stadium. The UT band program and its members are dedicated to a tradition of excellence. The Rocket Marching Band provides quality entertainment at various UT functions and athletic events, and prides itself on high levels of musical and visual performances. The band regularly performs both on and off the UT campus, for area events and competitions, at collegiate bowl games and professional football games. At the Defiance show, the performing high school bands include Archbold, Springfield, Bowling Green, Anthony Wayne, and the host band, Defiance. Tickets are on sale at Rettig Music, Deluxe Cleaners and at the gate. Tickets are $7 for reserved seating and $6 for general admission. Physically-impaired seating is available and gates open at 6 p.m. "It has been several years since we have had the priviledge of seeing the UT Rocket Marching Band here in Defiance," said Cathy Booth, director of bands at Defiance High School. "They are an outstanding group, and we are looking forward to their performance. In addition, we have four other high school bands from northwest Ohio that will share their talents. Our students and community have the opportunity to see another wonderful show." Comments
