A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against 23 persons, according to Prosecutor Jeff Strausbaugh. Indicted were: -- Timothy Babcock, 30, 700 Kiser Road, for rape, a first-degree felony. Authorities allege that Babcock engaged in sexual conduct with a female juvenile, compelling the victim to submit by force or threat of force. -- Daniel Rosa, Jr., 19, 937 Wabash Ave., and Elliott Simmons, 19, 1221 Ayersville Ave., each for kidnapping and felonious assault, both second-degree felonies. Authorities allege that they restrained the liberty of another person and inflicted serious physical harm upon the victim. Simmons was also indicted for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. -- Samantha Fenter, 19, Oakwood, for three counts of Illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, each a third-degree felony. Authorities allege that Fenter purchased items used in the production of methamphetamine at various pharmacies in Defiance County with the purchase exceeding allowable purchase limits. -- Nathaniel Long, 25, Mark Center, for robbery, a third-degree felony. Authorities allege that he stole property from a Defiance business and used force against an employee while fleeing the premises. -- Lavon Northrup, 31, 823 Lake St., for having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. He allegedly possessed a firearm, which is prohibited due to a prior felony conviction for an offense of violence. -- Jeremia Hubbell, 21, Bryan, and Timothy Thompson II, 21, Montpelier, each for vandalism, both fifth-degree felonies. Authorities allege that they damaged two vehicles in Hicksville. -- Edward Liebherr, 26, 07640 Ohio 15, for domestic violence, a third-degree felony, and criminal damaging, a first-degree misdemeanor. Authorities allege that Liebherr caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a household member, having had three prior convictions for domestic violence. The charges also allege that Liebherr caused damage to a sheriff's vehicle after being placed under arrest. -- Ricardo Estrada, 49, Archbold, for two counts of DUI, each a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse, having had three convictions for the same offense within six years. Authorities further allege that Estrada has six prior DUI convictions within 20 years. -- Jeremiah Fauver, 23, Hicksville, and Andrew Scott, 21, Hicksville, each for burglary, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that Fauver and Scott broke into a Hicksville residence. -- Cassandra Giesige, 18, Holgate, for grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. The charge alleges that she stole more than $500 of property from a Defiance business while employed there. -- Gerald Herr, 42, Wauseon was, for grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that Herr received more than $5,000 in Social Security benefits he was not entitled to receive. -- Fredrick Holley, Jr., 40, 26906 Hoffman Road, non-support of dependents, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly failed to provide adequate support to his children for more than 26 weeks out of 104 consecutive weeks, having had a prior conviction for non-support of dependents. -- Evelyn McDonough, 54, 830 Jefferson Ave., for assault, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that she caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a peace officer. -- Tyrone Oliver, 45, Defiance, for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. The charge alleges that he caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family member, having had a prior conviction for domestic violence. -- Dereck Davenport, 26, 708 Holly Glen Drive, Defiance, and Amber Adams, 20, 708 Holly Glen Drive, each for receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies. The charges allege that they sold property more than $500 in property that had been stolen from a Defiance business. -- Christopher Gibson, 22, Bryan, and Tasha Bell, 19, Mark Center, each for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. They allegedly broke into an unoccupied structure and removed property. -- Joaquin Tovar, III, 29, Stryker, for trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in marijuana, each a fifth-degree felony. According to Strausbaugh, the above defendants will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. Comments
