LIBERTY CENTER -- A 50-year-old man has been cited for vehicular manslaughter following a traffic accident on U.S. 24 which claimed the life of a Lucas County man, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office. The crash occurred Monday at 8:58 a.m. at 4-050 U.S. 24 and resulted in the hospitalization of two other individuals. Krzysztof Andrzejewski, of Mississauga, Ontario, was charged Monday after the semi he was driving was involved with a head-on collision with a truck driven by Charles Ardner, 58, Perrysburg. Andrzejewski allegedly drove left of center to avoid a vehicle stopped in the eastbound lane of U.S. 24 and struck Ardner's vehicle head-on in the westbound lane. Ardner was transported by Liberty Center Rescue to Henry County Hospital where he died. A passenger in Ardner's vehicle, Carol Howell, 56, Toledo, was transported by air ambulance to Medical University of Ohio, Toledo, where her condition was unavailable. Andrzejewski was transported by Liberty Center Rescue to Henry County Hospital, where his condition was unavailable. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the accident. Comments
