Lady 'Dogs volleyball team falls at Leipsic

LEIPSIC -- After winning the first set 25-23, the Defiance Bulldogs volleyball team dropped the next three, falling to Leipsic, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-11.

"I was really pleased with how the girls came out the first game," remarked Defiance head coach Brooke Buti. "We were ready to play and looked like a different team than what we showed in our last match."

Lindsey Tobias had 13 kills on the night, going 27-for-31 on the attack, with Danielle Tumblin adding six kills.

Anna Schrag and Brandi Wagner had eight blocks with Tobias adding five.

"Our defense stepped it up tonight," noted Buti. "Lindsey Tobias and Anna Schrag did a nice job at setting big blocks at the net for us. I definitely think we got better as a team tonight but we've got to be able to finish what we've started. We just need to keep the momentum going through the entire match."

Allie Greiwe led Defiance with 19 digs and Anna Meyer led in assists with 16.

Defiance, which fell to 1-2, is back in action Thursday at home in a league match against Wapakoneta.
