ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- The University of Michigan's football program raised about $15,000 to help Elliott Mealer's family, of Wauseon, pay for medical bills stemming from an automobile accident that took two lives and paralyzed one. The Wolverines bowled Wednesday at Colonial Lanes to support a fundraiser, "Bowling for Brock," which drew a $10,000 check from a person who wants to remain anonymous and $5,000 from about 200 people. David Mealer and Hollis Richter, the player's father and girlfriend, were killed and Brock Mealer, his brother, was critically injured last Christmas Eve in Fulton County. Shelly Mealer, his mother who survived the crash unscathed, says the family's faith has helped them cope with the tragedy. Comments
