Auction/Yard Sale Fund-raiser -- Henry County Fairgrounds, Napoleon, Saturday, auction items can be previewed and yard sale opens at 9 a.m., auction starts at 10 a.m. Numerous items donated by area businesses will be auctioned, with all proceeds to benefit the Holgate United Methodist Church building fund. Food available for a free-will donation. Everyone welcome. Street Fest -- Adams Street in Malinta, Saturday, 4-9 p.m., sponsored by Malinta United Methodist Church. There will be free hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn. Music by Sons of the Old West, Zion United Methodist Praise Band, John Galbrith, and Ryan Rolf and his sister, Kristen Krueger. Games and more for all ages, everyone welcome. Spaghetti Dinner for Missions -- Neapolis Church of Christ, corner of Main and Central Sts., Neapolis, Saturday, 5:30-7 p.m. Great door prizes will also spice up the meal which includes wonderful old-fashioned home-made spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $6.75 for adults and $4 age six and under. Everyone welcome. Ice Cream Social -- Holgate United Methodist Church, 322 Pittsburgh Ave., Holgate, Sunday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Menu includes chicken and noodles, sandwiches, salads, pies and cakes, and homemade ice cream. Everyone welcome. Barnyard BB-Q Hog Roast -- Ayersville United Methodist Church, Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Meal includes roast pork, hot dogs, fresh corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, fresh fruit and more. Event also features kettle caramel corn, homemade ice cream, "blue ribbon bakery," antique tractors, petting zoo, chicken races, and lots of activities for youth and children. Enjoy live music by "2 Men & a Guitar," great raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Free-will offering, everyone invited. Jacob Taylor Pipe Organ Recital -- St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main St., Sylvania, Sunday, 3 p.m. Taylor, a Deshler resident who will be a senior at Patrick Henry High School this fall, will perform compositions by Bach, Mendelssohn, and his instructor, Randolph Currie. This event is free and there will be a reception following the recital. Everyone welcome. Special Potluck Dinner -- Grace Episcopal Church, 308 W. Second St., Sunday, 5:30 p.m. This event is a send-off for the Defiance to Alliance bicycle ride for summer youth mission trips which begins Monday morning and concludes on July 4. Special guest is Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio. Everyone welcome. Free Community Soup Supper -- Grace United Methodist Church, 121 W. High St., Hicksville, Tuesday, 5-6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome. Free Community Supper -- Zion's Lutheran Church, corner of East Second Street and Greenhouse Avenue, Wednesday, 5:15-6:30 p.m. Monthly food pantry and clothes closet services available. All area residents welcome. Community Breakfast -- Ayersville United Methodist Church, 27728 Ayersville Road, July 5, 7:30-10:30 a.m. Menu includes bacon, sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuit, pancakes, fruit, coffee cake and beverages. Free-will offering, everyone welcome. Free Community Supper -- St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 1400 Glenwood Ave., Napoleon, July 8, 5-6 p.m., hosted by the Episcopal Shared Ministry of Northwest Ohio. Everyone welcome. Ice Cream Social -- Evansport United Methodist Church, 01560 West Street, Evansport, July 12, starting at 4:30 p.m. Menu includes chicken or sloppy joe sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, pie and other desserts, plus delicious lemon, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla homemade ice cream.
