STRYKER -- A motorcycle crash late Sunday night in the town of Stryker claimed the life of a Napoleon man. John Bowers IV, 36, 1058 Willard St., Napoleon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Ohio 191. According to the Stryker Police Department, officers were called to the single-vehicle crash in the 600 block of West Lynn Street (Ohio 191) at approximately 11:13 p.m. Sunday. Police said their investigation determined that Bowers had been riding a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle west on West Lynn Street at an apparent high rate of speed when the bike traveled off the south side of the roadway, striking an embankment, a tree and a concrete sign base. Bowers was thrown from the motorcycle and later pronounced dead at the scene by Williams County coroner Dr. Kevin Park. Assisting at the scene were the Ohio Highway Patrol, Williams County EMS and Springfield Township Fire Department. Comments
