State Patrol
Monday, 6 a.m., on Ohio 34 in Williams County's Center Township, a vehicle driven by Rita Harding, 53, Edon, struck and killed a deer. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Monday, 3:05 p.m., on Switzer Road in Defiance County's Noble Township, a vehicle driven by John Mitchell, 21, 216 Carpenter Road, Defiance, pulled from a private drive and struck a vehicle driven by Ronald Dingus, 36, 10521 Haller Road, Defiance. Mitchell was cited for failure to yield. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.

Monday, 6 p.m., on Williams County Road 4 in Northwest Township, the trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by Bowen Aldrich, 26, Edgerton, became unattached and hit a guardrail. Aldrich was cited for failing to follow towing requirement. Damage was light.

Monday, 6:05 p.m., on Ohio 18 in Defiance County's Richland Township, a vehicle driven by Ronda Voirol, 34, 1458 Deerwood Drive, rolled over. Voirol was taken by Souh Richland EMS to the Defiance Regional Medical Center where a condition update was unavailable. She was cited for failure to control. Damage was heavy. Assisting at the scene was the Defiance County Sheriff's Office.

Monday, 7:15 p.m., on U.S. 24 in Defiance County's Richland Township, a vehicle driven by Carol Mann, 59, Cecil, attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by a vehicle driven by Eric Baughman, 27, Waterville. Mann was cited for turning in the roadway. Damage was moderate to Mann's vehicle and heavy to Baughman's.

Monday, Andrew Hershberger, 25, 200 Maywinn Drive, was charged with domestic violence following an alleged incident at 1120 Hotel Drive.

Today, Brian Hastings, 28, Holgate, was charged with OVI and lane straddling following a traffic stop on East Second Street.

Friday, Blake Heisler, 24, Hicksville, was charged with OVI, obstructing official business, speed and driving under suspension, while Christina Scantlen, 24, Hicksville, was charged with open container, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Ohio 249.

Saturday, Casey Moore, 18, Defiance, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, while Jarrod Lange, 19, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Elliott Road.

Sunday, Adam Schilt, 28, Bryan, was charged with possession of drugs and driving in marked lanes following a traffic stop on Ohio 18.

Sunday, Derek Sharp, 17, Defiance, was charged with assault following a disturbance in Sherwood.

Monday, Julia Schutt, 43, Defiance, was charged with obstructing official business following an incident on U.S. 24.

Monday, Martin Rohdy, 44, Defiance, was arrested on a warrant out of Defiance Common Pleas Court.

Monday, Dwayne Ridner, 48, Defiance, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice from the state of Michigan.

Henry Sheriff
Monday, 6:28 p.m., at 1-369 U.S. 6, a car driven by Ruth Olmos, 30, Bowling Green, rolled twice and came to rest on its wheels. Olmos was transported by McClure rescue to Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, where her condition was unavailable. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Monday, baseball equipment was reported stolen in a break-in at a storage area in Liberty Center High School.

Paulding Sheriff
Sunday, 5:50 a.m., on Paulding County Road 171, north of County Road 170, a truck driven by Dianna Williams, 40, 10374 Road I-10, Ottawa, struck and killed a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Saturday, 4:20 a.m., on U.S. 24, west of Paulding County Road 73, a car driven by Vera Miller, 48, 219 Kroos Road, Antwerp, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Friday, 9:35 p.m., at Brown Township Roads 120 and 151, a car driven by Heather Dix, 25, 421 N. Williams St., apt. A, Paulding, ran a stop sign and hit a ditch. Dix was cited for a stop sign violation. Damage to the vehicle was severe.

Paulding Common Pleas
Nathan Wappelhorst Sr., 26, address unavailable, pleaded not guilty to two counts of nonsupport of dependents, each a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was set for June 13 and trial for July 1.

Nathan Stuchell, 28, whose last known address was 515 N. Williams St., apt. B, Paulding, was sentenced to three years of community control and 60 days in jail for domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony. He was also ordered to undergo anger management and substance abuse treatment and submit to drug tests.

A Paulding County grand jury has indicted 11 individuals on a variety of charges. Those indicted and the charges they face are:

" Moses Wilder, 25, address unavailable, rape, a first-degree felony; and abduction, a third-degree felony.

" Joshua Brown, 24, address unavailable, forgery and receiving stolen property, each a fifth-degree felony.

" Brooks Starbuck, 25, Cromwell, Ind., nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony.

" Jenny Barham-Gilbert, 24, 935 Perry St., apt. B, Defiance, theft and breaking and entering, each a fifth-degree felony.

" Nile Gilbert, 30, 935 Perry St., apt. B, Defiance, theft and breaking and entering, each a fifth-degree felony.

" James Jewell, 26, Paulding County Jail, theft, a fourth-degree felony.

" Mindy Contrarez, 32, address unavailable, identity fraud, a fourth-degree felony.

" Kenny Neff, 24, 4880 Road 17, Payne, possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

" Roger Simpson, 55, 17404 Road 105, Cecil, driving while intoxicated, a fourth-degree felony.

" Zane Bartley, 21, 9115 Road 171, Oakwood, possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

" Larry Schlosser, 40, Paulding County Jail, passing bad checks, a fourth-degree felony.

On May 13, 1918, the first U.S. airmail stamps, featuring a picture of a Curtiss JN-4 biplane, were introduced with a face value of 24 cents. (On a few of the stamps, the biplane was printed upside-down; the "inverted Jenny," as it came to be called, instantly became a collector's item.)
