Area baseball: Radcliff's no-hitter powers Fairview

SHERWOOD -- Ryan Radcliff threw the first no-hitter of his career while fanning 15 through to lead Fairview past Elida 7-0 during area baseball action on Monday.

"Ryan was on his A-game today," praised Fairview skipper Andy Singer. "I was glad to see him get his first no-hitter."

Travis Wiles hit a round-tripper and a single to lead the Apaches (14-1), while Ross Joost had a pair of singles and a double.

Radcliff added a double, while Nathan Yoder and Kyle Etchen each had two singles.

AYERSVILLE -- Ayersville scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Fort Jennings.

Logan Wolfrum earned the win Ayersville (18-4) and also led the Pilots at the plate with a single and a double.

Aaron Chandler led Fort Jennings (7-10) with a pair of singles, while Matt Kritenmeyer had a double.

Eric Applegate led Hicksville (11-7) with a single and a home run, while John Kobee added a double.

Jared Niese pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits while fanning six and walking none for the Wildcats (9-5).

Cody Vennekotter led Miller City with a double and a round-tripper.

Zach Botjer allowed no runs on just two hits through four innings to get the win.

Botjer also helped his cause with a triple, while Mitch Leonard and Greg Bergstedt each added a pair of singles.

David Dominique led Archbold (12-8, 3-3 NWOAL) with a pair of singles.

Vaughn also paced the Panthers with a triple, while Chaz Rush smacked two singles and Austin Abbot added a double.

Brad Thomas led the Tigers with two singles.

Jarod Riley threw a two-hit shutout for the Panthers, finishing with seven strikeouts. Haden Sholl added a pair of singles for Paulding.
