State Patrol

Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at Williams County Road A and U.S. 127, vehicles driven by David Swanson, 85, Saint Johns, Mich., and Norma Cook, 68, Bryan, collided. Cook refused treatment. Swanson was cited for failure to yield. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.

Saturday, 12 p.m., on Williams County Road K in Williams County's Superior Township, a vehicle driven by Chris Richer, 30, West Unity, struck and killed a dog. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Saturday, 1:30 p.m., on the Bend Road in Defiance County's Washington Township, a vehicle driven by Kyle Baughey, 22, Wauseon, struck a ditch and overturned. Baughey sought his own treatment. He was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Saturday, 1:07 p.m., on Canal Street near Fifth Street, a parked vehicle owned by Kenton Miller, 28375 Ayersville Road, was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Damage was light.

Thursday, Nathaniel Long, 25, Mark Center, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated following an alleged incident at 1221 Ayersville Ave.

Saturday, Mark Yonge Jr., 29, Ney, was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, and speed following a traffic stop on South Jackson Avenue.

Saturday, Miguel Cruz Jr., 21, 1384 Milwaukee Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated following an alleged incident on Milwaukee Avenue.

Williams Sheriff

Friday, a 14-year-old male, Montpelier, was arrested following a complaint at 09450 Williams County Road N-30, Montpelier. He is being held at the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Center.

Friday, 7:10 a.m., on Ohio 191 near U.S. 6, a vehicle driven by Kent Herman, 34, Stryker, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Friday, Mark Worstell, 36, and Joann Worstell, 35, both of Montpelier, were arrested on warrants out of Bryan Municipal Court for failure to appear on disorderly conduct charges.

Friday, Thomas Shank, 48, Bryan, was arrested on a warrant out of Bryan Municipal Court for domestic violence.

On May 4, 1945, during World War II, German forces in the Netherlands, Denmark and northwest Germany agreed to surrender.

In 1626, Dutch explorer Peter Minuit landed on present-day Manhattan Island.

In 1886, at Haymarket Square in Chicago, a labor demonstration for an eight-hour work day turned into a riot when a bomb exploded.
